Cradle of Love Baby Home is an interim care facility, a safe place of love, that babies in need find a place of loving refuge before they are reunited with extended family or adopted. Unlike many other orphanages that care for children until they become adults, Cradle of Love Baby Home is temporary care for vulnerable babies. It provides love, nutritious food, medical care, and a much needed safety net for babies. There are an estimated 2.6 million orphans in the country, most of them are living with extended family members because the children are older and can eat solid foods, but these little babies are not able to eat solid foods and require special baby formula as well as intimate and constant care. They need special care, the personal touch that only a place like Cradle of Love Baby Home can offer.
Since Cradle of Love began taking babies in 2004 the home has cared for over 400 babies. These babies are brought to Cradle of Love Baby Home by families, the police, hospitals and Social Welfare services.
